Spotify Listening Activity

Spotify added Listening Activity to its iOS app in January 2026. You turn it on in Privacy and social settings. Friends who use Spotify and turned it on too see the track you play at that moment, in the side drawer and at the top of Messages. They can react with an emoji or add the track to their library. It is live, opt-in and Spotify-only.

Apple Music: Friends Are Listening To

Apple Music gives you a profile. Friends who follow it see your recent plays in a Friends Are Listening To row and in a Friends Mix. It works for people with an Apple Music subscription, and you choose which playlists and plays to share.

Daycut

Daycut connects to Spotify, Apple Music or Yandex Music, whichever you use. Once a day, at one random moment, it cuts your day down to up to 10 tracks you played. You tap send, and friends on any of the three services see your cut in the same feed. Their cuts open when yours does.

Everyone is on Apple Music: follow each other's profiles.

What Daycut does not do

No live now-playing. No Android app yet. No shared playlists: a cut is what you played, and Daycut assembles it for you.

Can I use Daycut and Spotify Listening Activity at the same time?

Yes. Daycut reads your play history from the service you connected and changes nothing inside the Spotify app.

Does Daycut show what I play right now?

No. Your friends get your day at the daily moment, and you decide whether to send it.

What about Yandex Music?

Daycut connects to it like the others. Yandex Music has no friends feed of its own, so Daycut becomes the feed.
